About ETG

In 2008 Leah and Teddy collaborated as co-assistant directors on a certain musical about global warming at a certain theater in NYC while Chase was jobless drinking gallons of coffee in his Bedstuy apartment. When Teddy got fired from the production (for being too creative) and Leah had to quit due to lack of pay ( she got a job as an auto show girl instead) and Chase started a full-time gig restoring old concerts from the 70’s- they decided it was time to take action and make plays of their own rather than (A) sitting around not making art (B) assisting rather than creating (C)stealing cameras out of peoples bags and giving them away to MTA transit workers because we like to pretend we are Robin Hood when we are drinking ? (!) (…..)

Since then, ETG has self produced original plays in and around NYC. We have presented our work at Dixon Place (Untitled- A Play ), The Ontological Hysteric Theater (Sintessi Dogpile Show, A Pale Horse, Death and Hell Followed With), The Brick Theater (Big Girls Club: Happy Dance Dance Princess Show!) and HERE Arts Center ( UPCOMING in SEPTEMBER 2009: Big Girls Club: The Formula Play). We were 2008/2009 Resident Artists at the Ontological-Hysteric Theater’s Incubator Short Form Series for the development of A Pale Horse, Death & Hell Followed With (A Lifetime Original Series) which will have it’s world premiere in December 2009.
We work with a rotation of performers and designers (and publicity extraordinaire/AD Emliy Baines) and always emphasizie an importance in collaborating with dedicated artists from diverse backgrounds who enjoy conducting experiments rather than the formulaic. Young, emerging and with no money, we try to be as fearless as possible hoping to help give voice to the next generation in this ever changing (or not) world.
